2 Weeks of speaking with customer service without resolution

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Google Pixel 7a device has a known battery issue. It has taken 2 weeks for a device replacement order to be offered, but before a replacement can be sent, my damaged device needs to be sent to them.

This will take up to 14 days. That is a month for an issue that Google recognizes is a manufacturing issue with the Pixel 7a. 1 month, for a failure on Google's end. It has been hours in chats, hours driving to a repair shop at the behest of Google, hours on the phone, hours speaking with supervisors, all to get to this point.

But I still can't use the service I pay for because I have to wait 2 weeks for a replacement device.

2 weeks so they can take my broken phone, manufactured broken, and confirm it is broken to finally send me a replacement device. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

They are giants that steal from the poor

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They cut off my service on the 23 Feb 2025, where I couldn't make outbound calls or text. Usually, incoming calls and texts are free.

For receiving about 5 txt messages, they charged me the full amount of $87+/month, 04/11/2025 for the month of March. Customer Service said I should have called to ask for help. 2yrs, I have been with them.

I'm definitely leaving. My plan is 65, coverage, 12 plus tax, between $84 -$95 a month.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been trying to resolve a billing/repair issue for six days now. My phone broke and we have a protection plan.

When I got my new phone whoever handled it at Google Fi never moved my protection service to my new phone. They left it on my inactive phone. Now trying to get them to move it to my active phone has been impossible. The customer service has been awful, they have zero ability to fix it.

All they say is it will be escalated and someone will email you within 24/48 hours. NOTHING HAS BEEN FIXED. Every time we call or chat we have to go over the same issue. Even after I have repeatedly told them the problem they come back and say "we see you do not have protection on that device"...OMG I have never been so made at a company and their LACK of customer service in my life!

As of right now the issue has been escalated again b/c the other three times it wasn't escalated correctly...that is what they say, but I have zero faith it will now be fixed. I am at a loss on how to fix this b/c I get zero help from them.

4 days after service started I was already getting billed to pay twice in the same month. This service is a scam.

Also the price went from 65 dollars to over 75. In 4 days.

Carrier blocks SMS for no reason and is oblivious

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I've been a Google Fi customer for around 5 years. I've not had any issues until about a week ago when SMS messages began being blocked from delivery somehow.

I opened a support case with Fi and they have been 100% incompetent and after reading other similar stories, I'm convinced they simply don't care. I am astounded that they refuse to list whatever suspension they have on SMS on their end (I've confirmed it itsn't hardware or software related - and they know this).

I've literally dont all of the troubleshooting for them. At this point Idk what else to do other than switch carriers since they refuse to lift whatever SMS block they've placed on my phone line.

Preferred solution: Resolution to my currently open support case.

User's recommendation: Don't take the bait just because it's a cheaper price. Stick with a carrier that is competent.

Google fi sucks

Don't go with Google. If your phone stops working under warranty, they just don't care if you get a replacement or not.

You will go days without a phone, and there's nothing you can do but just buy another $1200-**** phone. You get that in 24 hours, but don't try to do a replacement; they want to charge you the price of the phone, or you have to go through all this stuff. Send your other phone back.

They'll look at it and potentially send you out another one. Crazy.

Google has failed me!! Wheres my sim card

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Google Fi - Google has failed me!! Wheres my sim card

I switched to Google fi 6 months ago. The SIM card has stopped working 3 times.

Each time it takes over a week to get a new one. This time it's 5 days past mailing date. I'm without a way to use, GPS, check banking info, missing connections with acquaintances.

Third time in 6 months I've had to replace the sim card, and the customer service rep acted like he didn't even know what a sim card was and barely spoke English. The service area is quite limited and I'm DONE with Fi.

Pros:
  • When in a service area i could use unlimited hotspot
Cons:
  • Good luck finding good service areas their sim cards stop working after a couple weeks

Preferred solution: The only thing that would keep me to stay with Fi is if they gave me a new phone, 6 months free service, and a refund for the 6 accumulative weeks I've been without a phone.

User's recommendation: Don't use google fi. Terrible customer service and overall quality

Resolved: Need to clear up an incorrect address from years ago

Updated by user Dec 17, 2024

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I have made sure that my Google Fi account has my correct address & has been confirmed by my son. Hopefully this kind of error doesn't happen again.Thank you.

Original review Dec 02, 2024
My issue is still not resolved.
I spent over 20 minutes on the phone with Heart & she said that I would be receiving an email confirming the correct mailing address though I have been living here since 2017. Google Fi for some reason still has my old address in El Cerrito where UPS delivered my expensive PKG.

I even asked for a signature when I tracked my PKG .
My PKG was outside of my old house on the stoop.

No signature etc.
I am still waiting for a confirmation email after 2 hours - so NO, I am not satisfied with communications. I need this fixed & if I have to go further up I will do that.
Sincerely
Unsatisfied Customer

Extremely poor resolution and communication.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I initially contacted Google Fi on Sunday to see what I could do to increase my finance limit of $1800 so that I could finance both the Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9. I wanted to avoid having to pay for the Pixel 9 outright as I would prefer to finance it as well.

I spent 20 minutes in a chat with an agent named Sage. She said that I would get an email in 24-48 hours. I received an email yesterday, which was well beyond the 48 hour mark. I called this morning at 9:24 and spent 8 minutes on the phone.

I was told I would get a call back in 5-10 minutes after they had worked it out. An hour later, I was making another call. It was a different agent this time. I spent 8 minutes on hold only for him to tell me there was nothing he could do and that he would have the previous agent call me back in 5 minutes.

It's been 25 minutes since then.

I'm getting upset. I need a solution!

Preferred solution: An increase on the finance amount

User's recommendation: Don't ever have any issues that need some kind of communication. It's a wild goose chase!

You have completely screwed up my order

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

So I figured I would get out from under Verizon's thumb after 33 years of not getting any signal in my own house. I live in the city so it doesn't make any sense so I figured when this offer came up I would take it but then they screwed up the order.

They're sending it to the wrong person into the wrong address. And of course when you call all you get is some Asian who barely speaks English and who's just working off a script and was on hold for 20 minutes while she went and spoke to her other team. I don't know why I can't speak to the team. I asked to speak to American several times.

They said that that's not possible.

Now Pitney bows is the worst company in America. Frontier communications is the second worst company in America and I think Google fi is #3

Pixel Watch 3 Promo Credits not reflected on the bill. Overcharged my Credit Card.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was roped in by the Promo they had last month for the Pixel 3 watch. $150 instant rebate (never credited to my bill) and 24 payment credits of $14.58 (not credited to my bill).

I didn't receive the credits they promised in the promotion. I've contacted customer service many times. Seems they all have a different excuse and tell me a "specialist" will call or email me within 24 to 48 hours. I have received some of the email days even weeks later with more excuses and promises to fix the issue.

I have a feeling these are standard form email as none of them give a reason or an estimate of when the issue will be resolved.

I would not have ordered the watch but for the promotion Google Fi offered. I guess it was too good to be true.

Smells a little like a bait and switch as I'm now tied to Google Fi for another 24 months.
